Moon Quilt Update

It’s a stormy morning, and I am fighting the urge to curl up on the couch with this Moon Quilt and a cat or two.

I did decide to build onto the body of the Moon Quilt by adding some blocks of celestial bodies onto either end of the quilt. I’m currently embroidering around the moons/planets/suns, but once I finish with that detail, I will actually start quilting the quilt – by hand!!!

I’m really looking forward to making those quilting stitches! This quilt has really felt like a marriage between my textile arts, my drawing practice, and my storytelling practice. I’m enjoying it – even though it feels mysterious, unresolved, and experimental.
