Spring Walks
Who loves venturing on a Spring walk?
Each jaunt is a romp in noticing the small ways that the world around is transforming in major ways.
Don’t sweat the small stuff, for sure, but do take notice and relish it!
I’m luxuriating in the green shoots, the minute white snowdrops, and the tiny tree buds popping up like pimples on a teenager’s face.
My sense memory is getting poked as I begin to remember what being alive feels like.
How do we ever forget? Or do we have to forget (like the pain of childbirth) the glories of the living in order to endure the dreary, dead of winter?
Either way, the reminder to get living is empowering and exhilarating.
I wrote more about Spring walks in the Spring Issue of Woolgathering, our quarterly magazine about the seasons.
