A Work in Progress: Making a Moon Quilt
So – this is a quilt top – or perhaps a partial quilt top composed of the various moon squares that I sewed starting in March of 2021.
I celebrated each full moon for twelve moons by honoring a bird and that bird’s message.
There was little planning elsewhere in the project. Each square had its own size – shape – colors – textures etc.
I did not think how they were going to all fit together – a problem for the future.
As I found myself trying to put them all together, I resisted further planning and just decided on tiny squares in certain colors that appealed to me.
I felt my way through the rest of it, and here I am – surprise, surprise – not sure about what to do next.
Is it a complete quilt top? Should I make it larger? Should I begin a new anthology of some kind which I would add to this chunk?
I don’t know what to do except that today is not the day to know.
I don’t have to decide at this moment on how to finish, but I wanted to show you where I am in this project. I wanted you to see how it has come together thus far.
Hope you are all well!
