Trees En Plein Air

A couple weeks ago, I painted over an old painting. It’s been about a million years give or take since I have painted on canvas. 

I enjoyed reuniting with the process as I painted this stylized tree. 

It was even more enjoyable to paint en plein air. This is something I need to do more of. Trees are good painting companions as well as subjects.

Turns out that I prefer the way the painting looks outside versus in my house. 

I may paint over it again or give it away. We’ll see.
