Painted Pots on a Ledge
In creating our greenhouse, we “cleaned off” the small slope that rolls down the sunny side of the former pool.
In removing some zealous plants, we excavated what I call the “bump out”, which is actually the little bunker that contains the former pump for the swimming pool as well as an electrical box.
I definitely wanted to fill this ledge with pots since it is a fairly sunny place that would be inaccessible to deer.
In pots, we are currently growing: bay laurel, lavender, oregano, lemon balm, wild geranium, sage, salvia, and marigolds
We have yet to decide what we want to plant on the hill. Any deer resistant suggestions that would help with erosion but wouldn’t grow very tall?
We also have to create a new door for the pump house room, which I would eventually like to convert into a usable space – be it for meditating or housing a shrine – I’m not certain. Hijinks to be decided!
PS the ledge is a great spot to sit and stare at the creek and the sky. It’s fairly easy to access from the greenhouse side.
