Nourishment Is Needed!
This has been a year of nourishment for me — in particular bodily nourishment.
Today’s oracle card from Alana Fairchild’s “Earth Warriors” read:
“Give yourself permission to be nourished. This includes your body and also providing your heart, your mind, your soul with what they are hungry for – meaning, sweetness, divine love and permission to be authentic. When you feed yourself that which truly nourishes you, wisely and generously, you shall become one who can also feed the world that for which it truly hungers.”
What this has translated into has been a year of listening and responding to old aches and “sacred rages” against neglect.
I have been trying to tend to pain and connect to true pleasure.
As a result, I have spent months dabbling and drifting, leaning and learning, wandering and woolgathering.
This structureless – goalless place feels really uncomfortable for me, but I know that simply filling days with meaningless busyness just results in burnout, suffering, and inauthenticity.
Anyway, I didn’t mean to write all of this in this post about this little tile painted with a sun inspired by William De Morgan tiles. Actually, I think the image was from a flower – perhaps a sunflower.
I’ve been attracted to suns lately – perhaps because the sun is the ultimate nourisher. Without the sun there is no life – no food, and in these final days of Summer, it feels all the more necessary to cling to the sun’s life-giving rays.
Take care of yourselves!!!! Give yourself what you truly hunger for!!!!
PS I may make more of these tiles for sale. Would you be interested in them? I’m playing with a couple of different hanging styles – divot in the back versus the hanging ties.
PPS Below is a painting of a sun worshiper that flew into my brain the other day.
