Miracles of Spring

This illustration came from the Spring 2020 Issue of Woolgathering. 

It was for a piece about three miracles of spring – the first duck eggs, the morels, and  antler growth. 

We received our first egg on the 17th, Patrick’s birthday This is the second time our sweet ducks laid their first egg on his birthday. What a present! Last year, they were a bit earlier on the first of March. We think last Spring’s warmer temps encouraged that egg-celent decision. 

The bucks have little nubs and are on their way to developing their branching antlers. 

It’s a little cold yet for morels, but I keep looking anyway. I will keep you posted!
