Leaf Art: Tracing
It’s fun to creatively engage with Fall leaves!
Beyond marveling at their beauty or collecting them for inside adornment, there are more simple ways leaves can inspire beautiful creations.
For instance, you can choose a leaf that is interesting to you, and then trace its shape on a piece of paper.
That’s what I did here. I traced a lovely oak leaf, and then I painted it with watercolors.
Finally, I added some details with colored pencil, marker, and ink.
Lately, I’ve enjoyed adding layers to my drawings in various media. I think all of the different kinds of mark making adds interesting texture.
I’ll be sharing some more leaf art techniques in the days ahead. Our trees have shed so many after a rainstorm, that I have a lot of leaves to play with!
