Leaf Art: Printing

It’s fun to creatively engage with Fall leaves!
Beyond marveling at their beauty or collecting them for inside adornment, there are more simple ways leaves can inspire beautiful creations.

For instance, you can actually print with your leaf.
In this case, I painted the leaves with acrylic paint and then pressed them between two sheets of paper. I smoothed the paper carefully to prevent the leaf from moving out of place.

I was able to make multiple prints from a single painting of the leaf.
Then, after the paint dried, I painted the interiors of the leaf prints with watercolor paint.

Finally, I cut them out and glued them into my little sketchbook.
I’ll be sharing some more leaf art techniques in the days ahead!
Let me know if you give this a try!
