Honoring the Sun Worshiper
Are you a sun worshiper?
When you live in a place with an interminable cold, gray winter, the Summer sun feels so good and so intense that it’s a wonder that we can make it through the dreary, bitter days without it.
In fact, scientifically, we can not live without this sun, around which our world literally revolves.
Of course, all things in moderation. Too much of a good thing can damage our skin, bake our cities, singe our crops, or evaporate our fresh water.
Still, I have a soft spot in my heart for those of us who like to soak ourselves in the sun like human batteries at a charging station.
I wrote a piece honoring such sun-souls for the Summer Issue of Woolgathering, our quarterly, ad-free magazine about the seasons and our connection to nature.
This is the illustration for that piece about a very faithful Sun Worshiper.
PS Wear sunscreen!
