Greenhouse update!

We’re finishing up the exterior of our greenhouse – which is now technically a brown house. We painted it a grey-brown to match the house and to disappear into the landscape. 

This week, Pat began preparing for the stairs by mounting a board to the cement wall of the pool. Once this is in place, he will attach risers and treads, and then we (and more importantly Lucy) will be able to get in and out of the greenhouse with ease. 

Once inside, we will begin by priming and painting all of the wood white. We’re undecided about whether to paint the cement walls. I happen to love the layers of paint and green scum –  as well as the claw marks left by raccoons who were trying to escape the deadly pool waters. Abe votes for painting over this past.
