Dear Sun, Happy Solstice!

Dear Sun,

Happy Solstice! I’m looking forward to experiencing your rays for a super long time today – the longest amount of time (in fact) of the year – for those of us in the Northern hemisphere.

Anyway, thank you for plumping my peapods, for casting my shadow into long and skinny silhouettes, and for fighting your way through the thick canopy to reach the forest floor. 

You’ve always been there for me (everyday, truly) – encouraging me to wake up and seize the day. 

You are the center of my world, and I just could not live without you.

I hope you burn brightly and intensely on your special day and know that you are loved fiercely by me!
