Blue Herons in Tree Tops and on Front Covers!
In continuing to honor blue heron and water birds this Summer, here is the cover from the Summer Issue of Woolgathering, my adfree, quarterly magazine about the seasons and our deep connection to nature.
I’ve always wanted to see a blue heron in a tree. So, I painted my dream in hopes that it might come true one day.
I imagine seeing a blue heron perched high up in a tree would be like seeing a fish out of water, but I am glad for heron to be equally comfortable in trees as in water, not to mention at ease in the air with its long legs extended behind gracefully.
