Black Swan Denim Shirt (DIY Painted Shirt)

I love Denim – shirts and jackets in particular. They are almost a uniform for me.

This shirt was my Mom’s, and I had been using it as a shirt-smock to do my dyeing in.

After wearing it recently, it began to call to me — to mark it up — with little x’s or perhaps they are +’s?

I began by painting, with a watery acrylic paint, a big black swan on the back, and then I filled in almost everything else with an abundance of + signs.

I love it. I love how big it is. I love the old denim, and I love that I made my own print.

I don’t think I will ever get tired of painting stuff! Paper, walls, or clothes – watch out!
