Winterlight
This piece was created by one of Spring Bird’s Artists in Residence – Cherylyn Gnadt – @cylnstudio on Instagram – and was included in this past Winter Issue of Woolgathering!
I think Cherylyn’s piece captures today’s mood as gentle precipitation blankets everything in a cozy comforter of snow.
The snowfall will be the perfect canvas for light and shadow.
My favorite projections are the eerie moonshadows that confuse my sense of what is figure and what is ground – what is negative space and what is positive. Everything seems inverted like the negative of a photo.
I hope you are staying warm and cozy wherever you are and studying the light that throws itself against your surfaces.
