The Paradox of the Fall Equinox

The Paradox of the Fall Equinox

Happy Fall Equinox!

This is one of my favorite times of the year! Fall offers us a paradox: We receive the fullness of the harvest just as we begin to let go of growth in preparation for Winter. Both offerings are to be relished and savored, and perhaps when combined, they are maximized.

What can we let go of now that will create more space to receive fall’s bounty?

What can we leave behind this season so that we can enter Winter lightly and pure-heartedly.

And What do we need to consume, make use of, and bring into our lives that will enrich our experience of winter?

I often think of Frederick the mouse by Leo Leonni . . . Do we need grain to get us through the winter or do we need poetry? Or both?

Enjoy the balance of light and dark today as we begin this miraculous season of change.

We are having a really good year for pumpkins! Here are two from our garden stuffed with savory goodness – prepared to be baked.

They were so delicious!
