Fat Tuesday, Yellow Sun, and Black Crow

Hello Folks! Happy Fat Tuesday, which (I am learning) was celebrated in Pre-Christian times as a holiday devoted to the Sun – as in – “please return to us, Sun!”

I have been enjoying seeing a bit more of the Sun each morning and evening. It’s the most colorful element in this pretty drab February landscape. 

A few days ago, I made this illustration after watching some crows. Although it wasn’t intentional, I now feel like the yellow background is my petition to the Sun to return. Please come back to us Sun!
