2025 Artists in Residence

Patrick and I are so excited to offer two Artists in Residence at Spring Bird this year! 

Imani Gardner intends to create “a series of collaborative mix media paintings and a short podcast season exploring Black trans identity, embodiment, and the complexities of existing in these bodies today.”

Sophie Juhlin intends to further develop her poetry and collage project, “Drivebomb”. Sophie writes, “My poems explore these tensions and merge them, turning cars into herd animals, giving humans sounds instead of language, and reflecting on the ticking timebomb of the climate crisis we could have avoided.”

We hope that both artists find inspiration, comfort, and place at Spring Bird during their residencies.
