2021 Artists In Residence!

It’s been such a wildly intense year, and we feel that our community of creators need time and place to do your important, creative work more than ever. So, we are happy to award three residencies this year! I suppose this is fitting since this is our third year of hosting an Artist in Residence. 

So, major congratulations to our three Artists: Anna De Leon, Cherylyn Gnadt, and Janelle O’Malley !!!

Anna will be working on a series of personal essays exploring physical and mental health. 

Cherylyn will be applying her nature observations to linocut carvings that will become part of a sketchbook guide designed to explore one’s own healing and finding one’s voice. 

Janelle will be working with large scale paper making for painted sculptures that will investigate nostalgia and trauma, matrilineal communities and feminist thought, food disparity, and ethnographic connections.

I’m very much looking forward to witnessing how Spring Bird shapes the work of these three creators. Please check out their work and support them!
